What happens when my Rius free trial ends?

When your Rius trial ends, ingest is refused until you subscribe to a plan, and everything already stored stays readable. The trial lasts 30 days or 500,000 spans, whichever comes first, and needs no card. Subscribe from Settings, Plan & usage, and the plan is active right away.

How it works

The trial runs on the Core plan’s limits. It ends at 30 days or at 500,000 spans, whichever you reach first. During the trial your organization can have 2 members, 2 workspaces and 10 alert rules, and ingest is limited to 25,000 spans per minute per workspace.

Plan & usage shows the date the trial ends and a meter for each limit. The sidebar shows how many trial days are left.

When the trial ends without a plan:

  • Ingest is refused with HTTP 402.
  • The spans you send are dropped, not buffered. Spans sent while you have no plan do not appear after you subscribe.
  • Everything already stored stays readable in the console.

If your organization was created before 2026-09-29, it is on a trial too. On 2026-10-05 every existing organization was put on the standard trial of 30 days or 500,000 spans, so for most of them it ends around 2026-11-04.

Subscribing during the trial ends the trial. The remaining trial days are not kept, so subscribe when you are ready to pay, not earlier.

Set it up

Only organization admins manage billing. Members see “Only organization admins can manage billing.”

  1. Open the plan page in the console:

    Settings → Plan & usage → Choose a plan
  2. Pick a plan. Each one lists its price, what is included and its overage rate. Compare the month’s spans with the allowance in the table below.

  3. Review the summary on the Subscribe to page. If you have a promo code, enter it under Promo code and click Apply. The summary shows the discount as its own line. A code works only on a new subscription and covers a set number of monthly charges.

  4. Click Continue to payment, then enter your card and billing address on the Stripe Checkout page. Stripe adds the tax that applies to that address.

  5. Stripe sends you back to Plan & usage, which reads “Confirming your payment…” and then “Payment confirmed”.

Prices are in US dollars, billed monthly, before tax.

If checkout does not finish, Plan & usage tells you why. After Checkout not finished, nothing was charged and the plan is unchanged. Click Continue to payment to return to the same Stripe page, Check again if you paid and the confirmation is late, or Dismiss to choose later. After This checkout expired or Payment did not go through, click Try again.

The full details are in Plans and billing. For how Rius prices each call, see Track LLM and agent cost.

What you get

  • Traces flow again as soon as the plan is active, with the plan’s span allowance each month.
  • Spans beyond the allowance are not refused. They are billed at the plan’s overage rate, prorated per span, and appear on the next monthly invoice. Plan & usage shows the month’s spans against the allowance.
  • You can change plan later. An upgrade applies right away and you pay the prorated difference, with the renewal date unchanged. A downgrade is scheduled for the end of the current period, and Keep current plan withdraws it.
  • Manage billing opens the Stripe customer portal, where you update your card, download invoices and cancel. A cancelled plan runs to the end of the period, and Resume subscription before then keeps it.
  • If a payment fails, ingest keeps running while Stripe retries the charge. If every retry fails, the subscription is canceled and the organization is locked. An admin can then subscribe again from Plan & usage.
  • If a downgrade leaves you with more workspaces than the plan allows, an admin has 48 hours to choose which ones stay. Until someone chooses, every workspace keeps ingesting. After the choice, the rest are paused with ingest refused with HTTP 402, and their data stays readable.

When something else fits

  • For larger volumes, an Enterprise plan is arranged through help@glassflow.ai. Pro does not stop at 10,000,000 spans: spans beyond it are billed at $10 per million.
  • If you hit the ingest rate on a busy workspace, a higher plan raises it. Above the rate, a request is refused with HTTP 429 and none of its spans are stored unless your exporter sends it again.
  • If you do not subscribe, you keep read access to what you stored, but new spans are dropped.
